Annie Davis founded Annie's Nannies, Inc. in 1984 while working as a counselor and teacher of delinquent youth. She pioneered the Nanny Placement Profession in the Pacific Northwest raising the level of Nanny Professionalism from obscurity to where it is today. She is a contributing writer to Northwest Baby & Child. Her agency has received many awards from Parenting Publications and in 1998 was awarded Agency of the Year for Ethical/Professional Business Practices and in 2000 received a Certificate of Professional Excellence. She is a member and former director of INA. Annie has been Board President of APNA since 2001.

Denise Collins, CEO of Aunt Ann's In-House Staffing and Aunt Ann's Homecare is a third generation owner of the oldest Nanny agency founded in 1958 in San Francisco. She has been an active lobbyist for Trustline, agency standards, background screening tools, consumer protection laws, and wage and labor laws for the industry. Aunt Ann's Agency is recognized as one of the top 100 Largest Women Owned Companies in the SF. Bay Area. Denise is a founding member of APNA and it's first co-president, she produced the 1st and 10th APNA conference and is an industry speaker.

Ginger is the founder and President of ABC Nannies Inc.® in Denver, Colorado. After graduating from college with a psychology degree, she worked for many years in the clerical placement industry and then as a recruiter for a hi-tech software company. Ginger started ABC Nannies Inc.® because she wanted to make a difference in people’s lives and nothing is more important than finding a caring person to take care of your children. Ginger has employed wonderful nannies that provided excellent care for her two children. ABC Nannies, Inc. was the recipient of the 2001 APNA Agency of the Year Award.

After 10 years of developing programs for abused children, Barbara Marcus became the owner of Parents in a Pinch, Inc, a full service nanny agency (1984). Parents in a Pinch is best known for offering backup childcare to companies as an employee benefit with over 50 companies in 9 states. What also makes Parents in a Pinch unique is their commitment to training. Barbara developed KidCare@Home, a nanny training tool and is using her recent experience as a fellow with the Zero to Three Foundation to develop a research-based childcare/childrearing statement transforming it into a training vehicle as in Nanny 911.

Matters of conference logistics and coordination

Anne Guerin founded Staffing Solutions @ Mothers' Aides in 1979. Anne was born in Paris, moving to the States when she was 8 years old. As the mother of three small children, she chose the nanny business because it comfortably fit her lifestyle. Since 1979, her business has grown to a full-service Professional Referral Agency with six full-time employees serving many of the most prominent families in the Washington D.C. Metro area. Anne has served for three years on the APNA Board as Conference Chair. In 2003, she was awarded Agency of the Year for Ethical and Professional Business Practices.

Ethics and Membership Development

Judi Merlin is the founder and owner of A Friend of the Family Home Services in Atlanta, Ga since 1984. Judi received a bachelors of science in Secondary Education from Memphis University. Judi had been a member of the International Nanny Association since 1986 and was a founding co-president of the Alliance of Professional Nanny Agencies in 1994. A Friend of the Family is a two-time winner of the Agency of the Year Award from APNA winning in 1999 for Caregiver Support and in 2004 for Professional Business Practices. Judi's greatest accomplishment is her four adult children.

Daryl Camarillo, President and Founder of Stanford Park Nannies, has owned and operated two California Nanny agencies for the past 15 years. In 1990, she opened her first agency, Huntington Nannies, in Pasadena, California. After successfully servicing Southern California families for many years, Daryl and her family returned to her hometown in the Bay Area. In 1997, she opened Stanford Park Nannies, an agency tailored to meeting the placement needs of Bay Area families. Stanford Park Nannies has earned the honor of being named the Bay Area Parents Family Favorite Winner for Best Nanny Agency for the past 5 years! Daryl is married, is the proud mother of three children and is an active volunteer in her community.

Lexy Capp is the owner and founder of Nannies & Housekeepers USA, a full service placement agency. She has an extensive background in public relations and marketing. A native of Minnesota, Lexy has three sons and lives in Las Vegas. She has strong ties to the Children's Miracle Network and the Alice Cooper Solid Rock (youth outreach) Foundation. Lexy and her staff of qualified placement counselors go the distance to exceed clients' needs and expectations for nannies, housekeepers, caregivers, estate managers, cooks etc.

APNA Philanthropic Committee Co-chair

For Claudia Kahn, founder and executive director of the Help Company, promoting employee rights and human rights has been both a professional and personal undertaking. She is a member of the California Committee South, an active member of the Women’s Rights Committee, and has a deep interest in labor issues. As the business owner of a company that pairs clients with domestic helpers, Claudia makes every effort to ensure employees receive living wages and work in safe environments. She admits she often encounters the challenge of getting people to understand the importance of treating employees with compassion, but she feels she has made a difference in her workplace. The Help Company encourages clients to respect their domestic workers and create good working relationships.

Mellisa co-founded Wee Care Nanny Agency, Inc. in 2001. Mellisa worked as a nanny while attending high school and University in Canada. Having an excellent working knowledge of the industry from both sides, Mellisa wants to get involved with APNA to encourage all agencies to uphold strong ethics and outstanding service expected from all APNA agencies. Mellisa has many years of experience in sales, marketing and client services. After University, she worked for several years running a popular and successful sporting and running store. As the mother of two young children, she realized the need for a friendly and professional service.

Bob King is APNA's General Counsel and the founder of Legally Nanny®, a company that handles all the legal and tax needs of household employers and represents domestic employment agencies in a wide range of legal matters. Bob received his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University, studied at the University of Lisbon, Portugal, on a Rotary International Fellowship, and received his law degree from the University of Chicago Law School. Bob and Legally Nanny have been featured in The Wall Street Journal, Kiplinger's Personal Finance, The New York Daily News, and California Lawyer Magazine, among other publications. Bob also contributed to the book "How To Hire & Retain Your Household Help," and was quoted extensively in the book "Help!! How To Find, Hire, Train & Maintain Your Household Help."
